Gmail signature: free generator and setup guide
In Gmail on a computer: gear icon, See all settings, General tab, Signature. Create a signature, paste it, set it as default and click Save Changes at the bottom of the page. On mobile, the signature is set separately and is text only.

Create a free Gmail signature with your logo
Enter your details and pick a template. "Copy signature" lets you paste it into Gmail with formatting, logo and links. EmailSign hosts your images so they load for every recipient.

Add a signature in Gmail on a computer
Gear > See all settings > General > Signature
- 1Click the gear icon top right, then See all settings.
- 2In the General tab, scroll to Signature and click Create new.
- 3Name the signature and paste it into the box (Ctrl+V or Cmd+V).
- 4Under Signature defaults, choose the signature for new emails and for replies.
- 5At the very bottom of the page, click Save Changes.
Signature above the quoted text
Tick "Insert signature before quoted text in replies". Without it, Gmail puts your signature below the whole previous conversation.
Several addresses with "Send mail as"
If you send from several addresses, pick a default signature for each one in the same menu.
Do not forget Save Changes at the bottom: without that click, the signature is gone as soon as you leave settings.
Signature in the Gmail app (Android, iPhone)
Menu > Settings > your account > Mobile signature
- 1Open the menu top left and tap Settings.
- 2Choose your account (on iPhone: Signature settings).
- 3Turn on the mobile signature and type it.
The mobile signature is separate from the desktop one and holds text only: no logo, no formatting. Keep it short, such as name, job title and phone.
Add a logo or image to your Gmail signature
Gmail only shows images that are online. An image dragged from your computer into the signature box often does not stick, or arrives as an attachment.
With EmailSign there is nothing to do: your logo and photo are compressed and hosted, and the copied signature points to those online images. Use a PNG or JPG about 200 to 300 px wide.

"Signature is too long"
Gmail accepts up to 10,000 characters, HTML code included. A signature pasted from Word or a heavy web page goes over fast. EmailSign templates stay well below the limit.
The image does not show
The image is not online, is too heavy, or the recipient blocks external images. Use a hosted PNG or JPG, like the ones EmailSign creates.
Blurry image
A small logo that Gmail scales up turns blurry. Use a logo at twice its display width (for example 240 px for 120 px) with fixed dimensions in the HTML.

Tick "Insert signature before quoted text in replies" in signature settings.
One signature for the whole team on Google Workspace
Google Workspace has no built-in tool to set a formatted signature for everyone. With EmailSign, you create your colleagues' signatures and send each of them an install link: they paste their signature in two minutes, without an account. Frequently asked questions
How long can a Gmail signature be?
Up to 10,000 characters, and Gmail counts the HTML code. Signatures pasted from Word carry a lot of hidden code, which is why they often hit the limit.
Why is my Gmail signature not showing on mobile?
The Gmail app uses its own mobile signature, text only. Turn it on in the app settings.
Why does my Gmail signature appear below the quoted text?
Because "Insert signature before quoted text in replies" is unticked. Tick it in signature settings and save.
Why is my Gmail signature image blurry?
